Evan Rapaport was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He began dancing at the age of 5 and developed his love for Hip-Hop and popular dance forms. He continued to formally train at the New World School of the Arts where he received awards from the YoungArts foundation for Contemporary Dance and Choreography. Evan then continued his studies at The Juilliard School, where he performed works by many incredible artists, including Twyla Tharp, Martha Graham, and Richard Alston. Evan furthered his rigorous training through summer intensives such as Magnus Midwest/Northwest, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Springboard Danse Montreal. Evan joined Ballet BC for three seasons under the directorship of Emily Molnar and Medhi Walerski, during which time, he performed works including Crystal Pite’s Solo Echo & The Statement, Sharon Eyal’s Bedroom Folk, Marco Geoke’s Woke Up Blind, and Medhi Walerski’s Garden. He also performed in many world premieres while at Ballet BC. These creations were under the direction of Justin Rapaport, Company 605, OutInnerspace, Dorotea Saykaly and Felix Landerer. Aside from dancing, Evan loves other artforms including theatre and piano and hopes to one day be in the field of Psychology along with his artistic career. He also enjoys anything involving a board, from a longboard to a wakeboard, there is no limit!
